Big Time Happy Hour At McCormicks (vs Suns)

Sunday is usually reserved for watching the Redskins lose, but a Saturday game (a win!) left the schedule wide open for a Sunday Funday with the Washington Wizards. Before the Sunday night gave against the Phoenix Suns (a loss :( ) the Wiz Happy Hour crew met up at McCormick & Schmicks Seafood Restaurant to enjoy a few beverages at their every day happy hour (photos). We had a lot of Blue Moon, some great food specials, and a couple special guests even showed up.

McCormick's everyday happy hour (4pm-7pm, After 9pm) features $5 Stella Artois, $5 Sam Adams, and the favorite of the happy hour crew the $5 Blue Moon. M&S also has a few signature drinks on the hh menu as well (M&S Iced Tea, Lemondrop martini).

The main reason for going to happy hour at McCormicks is the food specials. They have a whole bunch of great items between $3-$6 including pretzels, chicken sliders and their famous fish tacos.

The bar at this location features a few high top tables, 10 or so bar stools, and low date style mood lighting (we requested they brighten it up) On this particular night there was only 1 bartender and he was making drinks for the entire bar and restaurant. By the end of the night the food was taking forever to come out and the waitresses were yelling at the poor solo bartender.

M&S always has some interesting 'cocktails' on their regular non happy hour menu, and the bartender poured me a pumpkin Guinness...it was...not good...DOWN WITH PUMPKINS!

One of the fun things about this happy hour was talking about the good old days. When I was a blogger. When Sports Yak (left) was/is a blogger/radio host. And when Tom C (right) was a big time radio company owner/producer (no link). It was great to have some Sports Junkies characters join us for some drinks and sports talk. (Tom was the junks 1st intern and Yak is in the famous Corner Club). They were in some VIP suite at the game too...BIG TIME!

Overall we had more fun at the bar then we ended up having after the game as we took in a rare Wizards home loss. Hope you can join us next time. See you out there & Go Wiz!
