Return To Bar Louie

The Wiz Happy Hour crew returned to Bar Louie on Tuesday night to enjoy some half price appetizers and $3 craft beers (Photos). We had a great Unfortunately the Wizards lost to the Bulls afterwards, but we had a great time talking Wizards basketball beforehand.

Bar Louie was packed with Bulls fans. It seems to be a favorite for away team's fans when they google the Verizon Center and look for the closest bar. And there were a LOT of Bulls fans at the bar and at the game.

Happy Hour at Bar Louie (Mon-Fri, 4pm-7pm) gives you $3.25 beers which includes all the beer on the menu. Our favorites are the mid-atlantic craft beers they have like Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA, DC Brau Public Pale Ale, Heavy Seas Loose Cannon IPA, and Atlas Works District Common. Other drink specials include $5.25 wine and $7.25 martinis, which was not a big hit among NBA fans.

Bar Louie happy hour is great because they have a bunch of appetizers for 1/2 price. This includes a few flatbreads, Quesadillas, Spinach & Artichoke Dip, Bruschetta, Chips & Dip, Boneless Wings, and Calamari.  I always order the 3 dip pretzels although they are not included on the specials.

I was recently reading some negative reviews about the service here and people on Twitter were not big fans of Bar Louie, but I don't really see what they are talking about. The beer is good and cheap, the food is good and cheap, the bar area is super spacious, and it is 50 yards from the arena.

After the game we met up at Clydes for their late night happy hour and took down a bunch of $5 Cafe Patron shots with random Wizards fans. We are at Clydes right after just about every game.

We had fun at Bar Louie and will probably return here at least one more time before the end of the season. Remember to check out our next viewing party, and hope you can make it out soon. See you out there & Go Wiz!
