Wizards, Greed, & The Movies At Caddies on Cordell

Last night I was able to do a couple cool things. I got to check out a new bar area, Bethesda, and a new bar, Caddies. I got to watch the Washington Wizards steal a game from the Orlando Magic at the Buzzer. And I got to hang with local DC area film director Richard Brown and some of the people involved with his new movie 'Greed'.

Caddies is a pretty cool spot in Bethesda, walking distance-ish to the metro. It has great daily and weekly specials, lots of televisions with sports and a good crowd. It reminds me of a college style bar with cheap beer and pitchers all over the place.

The weekday Happy Hour (4pm-7pm) features $8.50 pitchers, 1/2 price apps, and $5.50 fireball shots among other things, and other specials last longer depending on the day. My $10 entree (Wednesday nights) was a delicious half rack of ribs.

I personally was drinking the Blue Point Hoptical Illusion IPA, which was super hoppy and super delicious.  I was watching the game in the private party room on the second floor, so I wasn't down with everyone else, but it was fun to watch the closing minutes of an NBA/Wizards game with some people who aren't really basketball fans and watching them get excited about the Wizards.

The actual event was a fundraiser for a new locally produced movie called Greed that is slated to start filming in the upcoming months.  You can read more about Richard Brown, a huge Redskins fan, in this DC Examiner interview and check out the progress of the film at the Greed Facebook page.

Thanks to Richard for having me out and for allowing me to catch the Wiz games in between socializing! And we got a DAGGER!!!!!!!!!
